Did you make a New Year’s Resolution this year? Many people make them, but how many actually carry them out the whole year? I think the reason that people fail to keep up their resolution is because they don’t have a reason behind them. For example, if you say you’re going to eat healthier, you might not stick to it. If you say you will eat healthier because it will make you feel better about yourself you might be more apt to do it! These are my resolutions, with the reasons for them!
- get better at crocheting
I’ve had yarn and hooks since last Christmas but I could never get the hang of it. This year I’m going to learn to crochet, especially because I want to make my own boot cuffs!
- do more yoga
I used to do a 20 minute yoga video every morning. It made me feel so good and I don’t know why I stopped! Even if I only do it once a week, yoga does wonders for my body.
- make 1 pinterest meal a week
When I find something I like, I tend to eat it. A lot. By making at least one Pinterest meal a week (or creating a recipe!), I’ll try some new foods and get more experience cooking!
- play more piano
This past year I didn’t play the piano nearly enough as I would have liked to. When I do play, hours go by feeling like minutes! Playing music in general makes me so happy.
- unplug at night
When I have free time at night, you’ll almost always find me on the computer. This year, if I have free time, I want to read a book or magazine (or play the piano!). Just because the computer is available doesn’t mean I have to be using it!
- live in the moment!
Too often I get caught up in future plans or thinking about the past. I need to focus on enjoying the present!
There, now I’m held accountable if I slack on these resolutions ;) What are your 2014 goals/resolutions?
